That Burger Place

We have already made several visits to the new location "That Burger Place" in Cumming, GA just east of Exit 13 off of GA 400. It is right across from the upcoming Avenue at Forsyth. Easy to find right behind the Starbucks.

First off we want to let the owners/managers know that their advertising is working because if it weren't for the ads we got in the mail, we wouldn't have known about it because we normally don't go down to exit 13.

The combo meal is priced nicely! Get a full meal with drink for about $6-$7 per person. Everything is fresh and the burgers are a great size. We LOVE the sweet potato french fries! I would go there just for the sweet potato fries, really I would.

So it is an all round great deal, good food, worth the visit (multiple times). Only complaint (I didn't see it, but my husband did)...one of the staff members used a dirty broom to reach something above the grill. Gross, right? I was honestly afraid to eat that day, but I didn't die.

3-20-08 Update: We stopped back by this restaurant today but we chose not to eat there. Hopefully your cashier will treat you better. Remember when I mentioned about the advertising they mail out? Each time we went, we were able to use the coupons to take advantage of the offers with no problems. Today the gal behind the counter wasn't able to do our order like the rest of the staff, so we left and ate somewhere else.

UPDATE 10-30-08 - That Burger Place has closed its doors, we were going to eat there today, however I have a new review to add.

Mestizo Southwest Grill

Mestizo Southwest Grill recently opened on Keith Bridge Road (Exit 17, Hwy 306) just east of GA 400, it's on your right side after Freedom Parkway, you'll pass QT on the way there. I think we have already gone back twice in one week! Our friends have gone there four times already as well.

So what you find here is your California style "fat" burritos, taco salads, nachos, soup, etc.

So you may have already guessed, the food there is good since we have already gone back several times. The prices are comparable to most places like this.

My first time there I tried the Chicken Tortilla Soup. It was awesome. The kid's meal is a great value. And this last time we tried the burritos. They are huge. Very good meal!

They do a good job of moving the line along no matter how busy they get. They have already realized that it is becoming popular and they may need to get some more tables. Oh, and I think you will thoroughly enjoy the upbeat 80's music they are normally playing.

They also do catering. I will grab the address next time around. The phone number is 770-886-3449
